Samuel Rueda (he/him/el)
IHC Professional Staff Advisor
I was a First Gen/Low Income student originally from the San Gabriel Valley. I attended Cal Poly, earning both my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and my Master's Degree in Higher Educational Counseling & Student Affairs. After working three years at Vassar College in their Office of Residential Life as a House Advisor, I returned to Cal Poly as part of the Residential Student Experience team. I have a passion for supporting students on their journey in higher education and connecting with communities to make their SLOme away from home that much more enjoyable! I look forward to seeing folks at our IHC programs and advocating for their communities on their Neighborhood Councils!
Tyler Coari (he/him)
IHC Graduate Assistant
I am a Master of Public Policy candidate at Cal Poly, where I have found my voice and purpose through student leadership. I began as a first-year volunteer in ASI Student Government, later serving as a college representative, Chief of Staff to the ASI President, and eventually Vice President of Finance for the Cal State Student Association, representing 480,000 students across the CSU system. Alongside these roles, I served as an IHC Senator and helped launch the San Luis Obispo Tenants Union. I pursued internships with local, state, and federal representatives, all to advance affordable housing and equitable transportation policy. My path has been defined by climbing the ladder of student leadership, building community, and working to make a meaningful impact on all those who call Cal Poly home.
